About Bo
Hi, thanks for checking out my site! My name is Bo and I like to create art, usually in the form of woodworking or photography. I live in Midcoast Maine and have fallen in love with the woodlands here, along with its natural inhabitants, especially where the trees meet water. The great blue heron is probably my favorite, but don’t hold me to that. The West is undeniably magnificent as well, with such variety in its landscapes and wildlife. Thanks to opportunities over the years working for wonderful beekeepers in North Dakota/California, I’ve had the chance to spend lots of extra time exploring that half of the country.
In my life and also in my art, I like doing new things as much as possible. I’m not an expert at anything in particular but it feels nice to create something in a different way than I have before. As for photography, of course much of the credit goes to the subject or landscape of the photo, but I do enjoy kicking back and doing my best to appreciate the natural world as it is. And for woodworking, that is my chance to create something truly original with my own hands, and also smell that sweet scent of freshly cut lumber which makes for a very pleasant workspace. I think mahogany smells the best, but I have to test out a whole lot more species before I say anything like that with certainty.
